'I am a Child of God' started playing and the boys started singing along (a sweet moment in and of itself!) He said,"Mom, whenever I hear that song, I imagine walking through our church building all by myself and no one is around. He really did well considering that Matt has a shaved head with 34 stitches across his crown. Yesterday I spoke with Will on the phone (my good friend Susan, visiting from Boston, took Will, Nate, and Drew, along with her two boys, up to our home to spend the weekend). I was hearing about the fun time they were having - Susan is awesome and had taken all 5 boys to 2 seperate parks, they had eaten tons of popsicles, and just sounded like they were really having a good time. I told Will that Matthew seemed to be doing well. William asked:

"Did they put his hair back, yet???"

That little comment just made me laugh, and made my day! The children at a certain table are given the opportunity to share anything they want with the class. Then, this information is written down on a big piece of 2 inch wide masking tape, and the kids get to wear it the rest of the day. I haven't been keeping them, or keeping track of them up to this point, but today realized they might make some cute memories! So, starting today I'm going to write down the date and Will's 'Sticky News.' Then I'll post this at the end of the school year!

(I just realized that this post would show up in order of the date it was started, regardless of when it was officially posted. It started out with a low grade fever on Tuesday night. By Wednesday morning he didn't have a fever, so I sent him to school. By Wednesday afternoon I realized it had been a mistake for him to go to school! He was curled up on the couch - anyone who knows Will, knows that this is utterly NOT like him! Anyhow, he had a fever of 102! He stayed home from school sick on Thursday and Friday. By Saturday he didn't have a fever anymore, so I let him do some 'normal' Saturday things. He played in a soccer game and went to a birthday party. That evening he started coughing - a terrible, rack your entire body, deep-chest cough. I finally took him to the doctor yesterday (Tuesday) and he was diagnosed with 'walking pnemonia.' When I gave him the first dose of antibiotic, he promptly threw it up all over my kitchen floor. So, I bathed him and gave him another dose - which he threw up about 15 minutes later...... So, today I gave him the medicine mixed with chocolate pudding, as per the nurses suggestion! So far it's staying down. Hopefully he doesn't get sick again, because I NEED him to go to school tomorrow. An entire week of Will's energy mixed with WAY TOO MUCH television and I'm at the end of my rope! Today a movie from Netflix arrived. I loved watching 'Pollyanna' as a little girl and hoped to share the joy with my little boys. Warren just rolled his eyes when he saw what the movie was. He likes to remind me that, 'you remember we're raising BOYS, right?' This afternoon I asked Will if he wanted to watch it and this was our conversation:
Me: "Oh, look Will, a movie came in the mail, do you want to watch it?"
Will: "Does it have shooting?"
Me: "No."
Will: "Does it have fighting?"
Me: "No."
Will: "Does it have any bad guys?"
Me: "No."
Will: "Um, I don't think I'll like it."
:-) Boys! :-)

Split decisions...

Since Nate and Drew have preschool in the afternoons, Will and I have 2 hours free to spend together. Sometimes we do something fun (yesterday I took he and a buddy to the Children's museum). Two days ago, however, we had to do something terrible. Prepare yourself for this news: we had to run some errands at the MALL!!! Talk about little boy torture! :-) As I was breaking the news of our afternoon plan to Will, I thought I would try to sweeten the deal by telling him that if he was well-behaved that I would take him on the merry-go-round. He remembered that there were some other ride-on type toys at the mall as well. I told him that he could choose whether he wanted to go on those rides or the merry-go-round. He sighed and said,"It's such a hard cedision." He repeated it several times, realizing that it didn't sound quite right, but not realizing why. Finally I said, "decision" and he said, "yeah, I have a hard time with that word". He is so cute!!!

Sweet & Sour Prayers

Today before breakfast, Matt was reprimanded for something or other (very minor, not a big deal at all). A few minutes later, we all sat down to eat, and Will was asked to give the prayer. It went something like this:

"Dear Heavenly Father, please bless Matt that he can stop being naughty. Please bless him to remember to make good choices and to listen to mommy and daddy. Please bless the food. Amen."

I had the hardest time not laughing!
